Benefits of Standards Based Grading
Why Standards-Based Grading?
MPUSD offers standards-based grading to make sure students know what is expected of them and communicates to families student progress toward meeting grade-level standards.
Standards-Based Grading:
- Allows students to practice mastering standards without the penalty of receiving a poor grade
- Provides teachers a consistent understanding of what each student should know and be able to do
- Allows teachers to use ongoing assessment to guide classroom instruction
- Provides teachers the opportunity to clearly communicate progress with students and families
